This Guitar can be picked up for anything between £150-£450 so look around.  This is Epiphone's version of the ever so lovely Gibson SG.  There are many cheap copies of Guitars around but these Epihone versions I believe cannot be seen as copies- they are official.  This guitars is no slouch either.  Same configuration as  a regular SG- Two humbuckers- two tone two volume and a three way pick up selector toggle switch simple! And a SET NECK!!!!

As you cab see this SG looks the business- grain of the wood showing through a lovely cherry colour - decent hardward- not bad for a guitar you can pick up for £150 new.

I tried this guitar through my own rig after a practice session and ended up taking it home with me for a proper set up.

It does not sem to hold it's tuning with light gauge strings (but what guitars do!!) so a god set up heavy 12's and plugged in!  (funnily enough I emailed www.axesrus.co.uk where I purchase all my strings and bits and they were out of gibson 12's- they said the guy from AC/DC had bought their whole stocks!!!  So should an SG have heavy strings- I defo think so!!!)

Of course when dealing with an SG type guitar most people just picture Mr Angus Young!  Of course firts thing you have to play on an SG is an AC/DC riff.  I am plugged into a Marshall AVT- set to stun.  I riff out Back in Black, then You Shook me, Whole Lotta rosie- I turn up- I get carried away- I turn up again - I am further into the rifs than ever before.  Before I know it I am covered in sweat I am horse from singing and the neighbours are knocking through the walls!

What can be said about the review of this guitar is for £150 what do you want?  It does exactly what it says on the tin- it is a cheaper version of an SG- for the price- whack on £100 pick ups- grovers and switches- a professional upgrade would not break the bank- However- does it need it...... I don't think so-

The actual guitar I am playing is gigged week after week- lead guitar- rhythm guitar- it sounds awesome through the Line 6 Spider II it is played through- It is light and easy to play- I have tried it next to a Les paul (Studio Gibson) and believe me - the guitar stood up in fact the guitar was awesome!!!
